From the start, Richard knew he wanted community to be at the heart of his business. “I could smoke my own meat, but how much more fun is it to rotate other businesses into my company,” he shared. “Local is just better.”
When it came time to open the restaurant, Richard relied on the support of those around him. With their help, the restaurant opened in January 2025. One of his former employers, Bruce Finch, provided all the restaurant’s booths. “I wouldn’t have a dining room without other people helping us,” he said.
Many of the contractors who helped remodel the space were friends he met through recovery. “Recovery is about being available for the next person,” he said. His personal growth is about just doing the next right thing, supporting, and giving.
