Cashier’s Check vs Money Order
A Cashier’s Check, also known as an Official or Certified Check, is a secure form of payment issued and guaranteed by your financial institution. These are often used for large purchases, loan payoffs, and other large or significant transactions.
Our team will type who the check is made payable to and the exact dollar amount. The funds are drawn from your personal account, with the additional $4 standard fee for each cashier’s check.
A Money Order is a prepaid payment method, similar to a personal check. These are often used to pay rent, deposits, or bills to companies that do not accept cash or personal checks.
Unlike a cashier’s or official check, money orders have a maximum amount of $1,000. Our team will enter the exact dollar amount on the money order, and the member will fill in who the check is made payable to. The funds are drawn from your personal account, with the additional $1 standard fee for each money order.
