What's the best financial advice you've received?

Happy woman gets advice from another woman.

We've all gotten countless amounts of financial advice, whether you liked it or not. We're sure some of it was good, and some wasn't. We thought, let's chat with some of our team members and have them share the most important tip they've ever gotten and how they used it in their lives.

Taylor : Automate your savings! Transferring from your checking to savings seems easy, right? It's really not. I personally tend to put it off and say, oh, you don't need to save right this month, no need to strap yourself. Setting up an automatic withdrawal each paycheck has helped me accumulate savings much faster and helped me stick to a budget much more effectively.

Taj : The best financial advice I received was in regards to building my credit. Growing up, my parents always stressed the importance of money and credit. I started building my credit as soon as I turned 18, and because of it, I was able to get qualified to purchase a home at the age of 21.

Kylie : I've heard a ton of great financial advice over the years, but none as important as making sure your credit card is paid off every month. Credit card debt can be challenging to climb out of.

Vanessa : My mom started me out with small in-store credit cards that she co-signed on and taught me to pay the balance off every month. This helped me build my credit from a very young age. She always emphasized not living beyond my means, and she has always practiced what she preached.

Dan : The most important trick I learned to improve my finances is that everyone should prioritize, pay yourself first! You work so hard for yourself, you need to make sure that you reward yourself by saving a little from each paycheck. Saving is saving, no matter the amount.
