Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

The Lewis-Clark Valley Martin Luther King Jr. and Idaho Human Rights Day of Service, coordinated by Lewis-Clark State personnel, the YWCA and community members, is a day of volunteerism and giving back to the community.  Our staff helped to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by volunteering in two locations in the LC Valley. At Art Uncorked the group got to paint wooden fish that will be displayed along the walkway at Pioneer Park.  Our other group went to the Idaho Foodbank and got to sort food into family size packages .  This tradition of serving others on this national holiday in the LC Valley is in its 30th year and twelve non-profit organizations had volunteer opportunities followed by a candlelight walk.
